My latest purchase would be Rock & Rule. Very good movie, but it seems getting the UK released DVD was a mistake, it doesn't have the canadian version on it. D:
I'll have to buy it again sometime, but right now I'm busy saving money for school trips and computers and cartoons that I'm too old to be watching.

I snagged the CPM releases of Garaga, Time Stranger, and Cybernetics Guardian (the latter in particular being a long, LONG overdue purchase). Unfortunately I ordered them off of Rightstuf via their Amazon page, and their shipping tends to be molasses slow when ordered through Amazon. Most likely I probably won't get them until well into next month if not possibly later. With Guardian though, I've finally completed the Koichi Ohata 80's OAV trilogy of awesome (Geist, Genocyber, and Cybernetics Guardian) on my anime DVD collection. Can't wait for it to finally arrive. Jin-Roh is quite awesome BTW. I didn't get the fancy two disc edition pictured above unfortunately, but I did grab the standard R1 "Anime Movie Classics" Bandai release some months back. Better than nothing.

I received CPM's M.D. Geist DVD encoded in Region 2 courtesy of a Japanese friend, I'm still blown away by the amount of special features on it, would love to get the Cyguard DVD someday if I can play it, that OVA is so underrated!

I recently managed to snag a new and sealed DVD of Odin Photon Space Sailer Starlight, the original 1999 CPM release with the uncut 140 minute version. Definetly will be a forthcoming article as almost EVERYBODY seems to outright hate the film.

I recently got Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, and to be honest... I thought it was a piece of shit.
I'm sorry, but it was so boring, the main characters lacked anything resembling human emotion and the Little Red Riding Hood symbolism was all over the damn place. Maybe I just don't get Mamoru Oshii.

I recently got Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, and to be honest... I thought it was a piece of shit. While I couldn't disagree more with the above statement in regards to Jin-Roh, on a similar note I finally got my order of CPM DVDs awhile ago (much quicker than I was expecting: thanks Rightstuf!) and re-watched Cybernetics Guardian for the first time in well over a decade. To be honest, its one of the very, very, VERY few titles in my surge of "first time in a decade+" anime revisits that hasn't quite stood the test of time so much, stacking up a little better in my memory than it now does in practice (my track record has generally been about 99% solid to date; usually these things tend to be either about as good as I remembered or even sometimes way better). I still liked it okay, but it doesn't stack up so much in comparison to Geist or Genocyber. It definitely has its really cool little moments and I by no means intend to hate on it, but much of it lacks the energy and vibrancy of Ohata's other gore-drenched efforts. And as funny a complaint as this is gonna sound considering this is Ohata we're talking about here, some of the animation I found to be pretty lacking in spots, even considering the standards in question (and I'm someone who didn't really mind the more "iffy" animation moments in Geist hardly at all, and found Genocyber's to be flat out great for the most part). It could probably also stand to be a bit longer: I'm usually the dead last person in the world to complain too much about the length of an 80's and 90's 45 minute one-and-done OAV, but this one particularly left me wanting a little more. It needed at least one more really good action/gore setpiece. It definitely sits behind Geist and Genocyber for me in terms of Ohata's big three 80's OAVs... but of course I'll still happily take this bad boy, flaws and all, over some awful overhyped/overexposed/watered down crap like Bleach. There's more than ample enough awesome bits in its lean 45 minute runtime to satisfy a super brief anime quick-fix (gotta love that first transformation scene). Also, holy shit Zombi! I have literally that EXACT same Hikage avatar on a different forum! Very awesome! Curse of the Yoma is utterly fantastic.

I don't know if figures are counted but hey it's an item related to anime, here's mine: MG Strike Noir from Gundam Seed Stargazer and MG God Gundam from G Gundam Both of them are built so I got these two in discounted price. zombi1978: You should also check Yotoden, it's also a ninja themed anime and masterpiece as well!

Figs definitely count! Hell, I'm still in the process of trying to build my Unicorn Gundam, probably gonna end up painting it and I'm already halfway through it, just not had the time to finish it.
I have to agree with you Hellmasker, Cyguard doesn't really hit all the points it wishes it could as it falters a bit after the second half, but oh well, if only it was longer!
