I dunno why but cel collecting has never been my thing, perhaps for a number of reasons, but I am always curious how they wind up outside of their production houses. Still, nice find!

Ordered a Roots Search film comics book. After doing some research, I found it was by Hiro Media (who also did The Humanoid art book/comic book I have as well as many other such books), so I suspect it also contains extras and such. If it doesn't, I won't be too disappointed. I only paid 1 yen plus the middle-man fee. Gee, I wonder why it was so cheap? I'll post scans when it arrives in the mail. Until then, there's a similar film comics magazine on Yahoo!Auctions with lots of pictures that has some Roots Search materials: page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k139624179

Ooh sweet, didn't even know it got one, will have to add something on that in future.
You just posted a link to the OVA magazine Globian, one of their issues was on M.D. Geist once.

I was told that the Roots Search book I bought has different contents from the Globian issue, so I contacted the seller of that Globian magazine and bought it too. ^_^; I wanna see those character designs. Who knows, maybe (like The Humanoid) the OVA looked better in pre-production. XD Eh, either way, I'm a sucker for animated Alien rip-offs.

The anime I got from the Scarecrow Video sale I posted about in the Film 'Latest Purchases' thread: Bio Hunter and the CPM Area 88 release! Bio Hunter is fairly expensive now used (around $25) I got it for $6.50!

That's certainly impressive, I would love to own a few issues of Globian if I ever could. At some point, I really need to feature some of your findings and artwork on the site, with all credit to you of course.

Seeing those character design concepts, I just realized it has the similar style as Initial D.

I don't care if they're bad or not, I love crappy old OVAs because they're relics of something that will never be seen again.

Outlaw Star vol. 3 came in the mail a couple of days ago. Gotta love 11-year-old DVDs.
Should be getting vol. 2 in the mail later this week.

I would love to own a few issues of Globian if I ever could. this one day i found the blue knight berserga artbook on ebay i was looking for years. i scrolled down to look at a slideshow for other items by this seller and saw this little thumbnail of the md geist globian magazine issue. I rubbed my eyes in disbelief. got it for 16$. since then there were no other issues on ebay (imo).

I really love that cover art, so I bought a laserdisc of Roots Search to put on display. I'll put up a large picture when it arrives in the mail. Attachments:
