Last week I bought the German DVD of John Carpenter´s classic "Assault on Precinct 13". It´s very good, if you´re into 70´s action movies.

A preview of an eventual review for the site, director Wong Jing may become something of a regular among Forgotten Junk in future.

Two of the greatest action films ever.

Mallrats 10th Anniversary Edition and Street Fighter (the Jean Claude Van Damme one) Extreme Edition DVD both from the US. I got both since they have more extras than the UK releases and SF is uncut in the US

Not bad, US DVDs typically always get the fancier features, or at least used to.

Just today I recieved the UK VHS of one of my personal favourite action-sploitation films of all time: Phantom Soldiers by Teddy Page (Credited as Irvin Johnson). This film is so rare to find in a print without foreign subtitles that to get this has left me chuffed to say the least, even more so that I actually paid only £13 from Amazon UK of all places. The quality of both the tape and the box is excellent with barely any problems at all. Included on the tape is trailers for more films like Tiger Cage, Top Squad, Burning Fire and Return of Superfly. Alongside Robotech: The Movie and In The Aftermath this is definetly one of my now most cherished collectables. img707.imageshack.us/img707/623/scan0001tf.jpg

Loving that sleeve dude, also, did the tagline just spoil the movie? lol I got a VHS purchase, not exactly an unusual purchase but uncommon, I had been wanting to see this film for years even if I had heard LOTS of bad things. The dub on this tape is abysmal but I enjoyed it, despite the myriad of problems, I'm looking into a lot of Gunhed for an article on it in the far future. Also, all the Manga promo stuff gave me quite a heavy dose of nostalgia.

Can´t wait for something new to read. The soundtrack has already made me interested in that movie. invidninja92: You can´t kill what you can´t find... You got yourself some really rare treasure there.

I don't want to spoil too much from my eventual review but Gunhed's soundtrack is definitely one of the best I've heard in a film.

I believe the manga came after seeing as how the story for Gunhed was originally meant to be a Godzilla film.
I've been reading the manga and while the art is nice it's not really very good.

And the story? What about the story?

It was originally about Godzilla fighting a super computer that had robotic defenses, it was then changed to a robot being piloted by a human to take on a super computer and its robotic defenses.
