Just like animes in 80s, some of the characters or players in video games are based from the iconic people/characters in movies and also real people which is quite a trend especially in 80s and 90s but there are also a few in modern games. Anyway, here's what I found: Dutch/Arnold from Predator and Bill Riser from Contra series John Rambo/Sylvester Stallone from Rambo and Lance Bean from Contra series John Rambo/Sylvester Stallone from Rambo and the two unnamed players from Garuka/Devastator arcade game Kyle Reeves from Terminator and Solid Snake from first Metal Gear game Actor Sean Connery and Big Boss from Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake Conan/Arnold and Simon Belmont from Castlevania series Deckard/Harrison Ford from Blade Runner and Gillian Seed from Snatcher Riggs and Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon and Jonathan and Ed from Policenauts Hattori Hanzo/Sonny Chiba from Kage no Gundan and Joe Musashi from The Revenge of Shinobi Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street and Jaguar from Gang Wars arcade game Jason Vorhees from Friday the 13th and Rick Taylor from Splatterhouse arcade game(a remake for PS3 and Xbox360 will released soon) Frank/Van Damme from Bloodsport and Johnny Cage from Mortal Kombat series Feel free to share yours as well!

USELESS TRIVIA: The original Mortal Kombat was supposed to be celebrity tie-in starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. I guess it was cheaper to just rip off Van Damme with Johnny Cage.
Also, not only was Solid Snake based off actor Michael Biehn (best known as Kyle Reese from The Terminator and Cpl. Dwayne Hicks from Aliens), but also Mel Gibson (as seen in the original release of Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake) and mainly Kurt Russell's anti-hero character, Snake Plissken, from Escape From New York/L.A.

Here's another pic for you guys. This is the box art of Bare Knuckle 2, the Japanese version of Streets of Rage 2, from the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive: -Axel=Jean-Claude Van Damme -Blaze=Kathy Ireland -Skate/Sammy=Martin Lawrence -Max Thunder=Don "The Dragon" Wilson -Electra=Cory Everson I REALLY wish Sega of America used the Japanese box art. In my opinion, it looks WAY more badass.

@loadrunner: I almost forgot, yeah Solid Snake looks like Mel Gibson in the 2nd intro of Metal Gear 2 and also in the same game, Dr. Pettrovich has a very huge resemblance to Albert Einstein. I used to have the Megadrive cartridge of Bare Knuckle 2, never thought that Axel has a resemblance to Van Damme in the box art, I have a feeling that Mr. X(the sinister smiling face in the background)must have a resemblance to a real person but I can't tell who. @vendavaleste: Actually in my side, when I saw the title M.D. Geist more than a decade ago(but never watched), I thought the initial M.D. has something to do with a doctor ;D

That's the best I can do. Speaking of M.D. Geist, when my mother, who is a sci-fi and horror movie buff, brought M.D. Geist home from Blockbuster back in fall of 1995, I had no clue that I'd be watching an anime starring the mascot of US Manga Corps. Oddly enough, prior to seeing M.D. Geist, I once had a dream about a man walking through fire and not giving a fuck, just like Geist!

Not much, just a little I guess, anyway already change the title as "VG characters based on real people/movie/anime" so we can post video game characters based on animes.
