Cannibal Holocaust
A dated but still relevant look at the portrayal of sensationalism and violence in the media and how we as society are quick to lap it up. The film is poor at being subtle however but it has become a favourite, easily one of the most beautiful-looking films I’ve ever seen too, despite that in itself being a huge contradiction.
I love Italian cinema.
The Last Match
Disappointing.
This is where I don't love Italian cinema.

Universal Soldier
Probably Roland Emmerich's best, an immature template of a film interspersed with scenes of violence, but I can't hate it too much.

Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari
Probably the most inspiring film I have watched in the last ten years, next to Michael Radford's 1984.

Vertigo, currently the Hitchcock film I am studying as part of my film course.

Is this the only film you have for this term; maybe another Hitchcock (or totally different in general) film on the schedule too?

Yeah this is the only one, it takes up the entirety of my third case study. Other films I studied for this year in the other cases have included La Haine, City of God and Chungking Express.

Besides Vertigo the only other movie that might sounds interesting is Chungking Express.

I saw Scream 4 last Saturday with a friend of mine. I found it better than Scream 3 at the very least.

Super Snooper
A movie so charming and light-hearted it's worth every minute of your time.

Char's Counterattack It was released in theaters, so I order you all to count it as film. Fake arrogance aside, the movie wasn't THAT special. I say without any doubt that playing the games based on it beat the movie several times over. Of course it's a film, I count VHS movies as films, so cartoons count too. Last film seen: Sgt. Clarin - Bullet for your HeadQuite simply the best Filipino action film ever, and better than probably two decades of Hollywood action.

The Killing Room.
The movie is unpredictable to the very end.

Not a fan of Char's Counterattach. Without mentioning SEED, that movie is arguably my least favourite Gundam property. This coming from someone who is a defender of F91 so take from that what you will. Also James, good one for finding that Sgt. Clarin movie.

Also James, good one for finding that Sgt. Clarin movie. For Filipino action movies, I'd rate it even higher than Phantom Soldiers, especially for entertainment value (a few unintentional laughs, but I wonder if the film could be taken a bit more seriously if it was viewed in Tagalog (and this version does exist, somwhere). Given that today has been a day of stop-animation for me, I've had films on in the background. The second one was Universal Soldier: The Return. It just turned me off action films for a while as it was that bad; forget riffing Z-grade movies, when you watch boring shit like this you have to shout every time in frustration something idiotic happens.

Ironically, I think F-91 is worse than Char's Counterattack. Hm...which do you dislike more, Endless Waltz or F-91? I didn't finish Endless Waltz, but I already like it more than the other two. Double ironically, I find genuine merit in F91 and Endless Waltz as well as Wing in general while unbelievably silly, I still find it enjoyable. Yes, I will happily admit I like Wing as just an entertaining Gundam show. It's no Zeta but hey, most Gundam shows aren't. Hate approaching in 3....2......1

Kinda missed the days of action movies during 80s to early 2000, most of filipino movies nowadays are nothing but love stories. Anyway, the film I last watched: PhenomenaAn italian film about the girl who has the ability to communicate with insects and use them to solve the mystery of killings of young girls. Very interesting movie plus good amounts of gore, great soundtrack(as usual in italian movies) and oh, the leading actress is beautiful. Also the movie was the main inspiration for the Super Famicom survival horror game Clock Tower.
