What film were you really hyped up about and then left the cinema thinking, "I want my money back!"

Personally, mine was The Phantom Menace, my first oppurtunity to see a Star Wars film in the cinema and it was a depressing, dialogue heavy unworthy prequel, however, it did have some of the finest actors of our generation, Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson and Frank Oz voicing Yoda again, still, could have been much better than it was.

Cliched I know, but Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith essentially killed my love for Star Wars in general for a very long time when I was young.
But nowadays I am rarely ever disappointed by a film mostly because I only see films I know I am going to enjoy hopefully on some basic level. However I would certainly consider Repo Men (one of my most hated action films) or Battle: Los Angeles as some recent examples.

I personally think that Revenge of the Sith is the best prequel but hey, freedom of speech is what forums are all about man, the prequels in general are far inferior to the original trilogy, far inferior.

Whoa, this kinda falls in line with the worst movies thread. Everything I have listed in worst movies, save for a few, are utter disappointments. I'll just make a quick list while I'm at it. Corn Godzilla: Final Wars The Big Bounce The Big Nothing Dead Poet's Society Gundam F-91 Centipede Transformers (2007 film) Clash of the Titans (the new one) Host Easy A Adventureland Zombieland (haven't finished it though) I loved Zombieland, everything else I agree with though.

I am constantly pestered to see that movie and do it for the site, tell me a bit about seeing as how you've seen it. By the way Idorado, I like your opinions on what you've seen recently.

Robo Vampire.
So bad, it's... not funny. It made me impotent.

Yeah, I'd also have to say Repo Men was a big disappointment. The ending made the entire second half of the movie utterly pointless.
Also, The Spirit. I got curious and actually paid to see what the previews were hinting at, and got a movie so incredibly bad and stupid that I left after 20 minutes and demanded a refund.

I never took Repo Men to be anything more than a feature-length snuff film. Essentially, that's what all the Saw and Hostel movies are. Now, I knew that The Spirit was going to suck. Jackson in a fur coat playing a villain named The Octopus--c'mon. Doc Ock had actual tentacles whereas this other guy is just a metaphorical octopus. Think about if Langston Hughe's The Invisible Man were part of the Justice League. As for the general movie, I do not like that style of cinema. Thienin is into that kind of thing, but with recent terrible movies making use of it, it's a turn-off for me. Never caught The Spirit, probably never will.

Shame, I really am the only person in the world who finds that film entertaining.

The 1999 sci-fi movie The Thirteenth Floor had an ending that ruined the enitre movie for me.
