...Is it wrong that I don't give two damns about it?
I dunno, what did you folks think, if anything?

I'm not fond of them either, in fact I have always seen televised awards ceremonies as pointless. Nothing wrong with showcasing talent but the elitism surrounding the awards is usually what bugs me the most about them. That and it almost seems like they are tailor made so that the films that do win are rammed down peoples throats to the point that people stop caring about them and move on. Despite this though, most of what was up for nomination did look like a solid lineup of films. Perosnally though my pick out of all of the films mentioned is The Social Network. That to me is definetly a modern great. But no there is nothing wrong with not giving a toss about the awards, at the end of the day it's just extra credits for the front cover on the DVD box.

Missed 'em!
All I know is, I still want to see The King's Speech, as for the actual topic of televised film award ceremonies, I'm honestly neutral. They give a select few to chance to feel really good about themselves though, so I guess they do no harm.
