A thread dedicated to live-action/animated films. So, what's your favorite live action/animated film? Why is it your favorite? I like Cool World. It was initially supposed to be a live-action/animation horror about a real guy who gets a cartoon gal knocked up and they have a half-cartoon-half-human abomination that tries to kill him. I guess it was supposed to be about the dangers of casual sex... but instead, thanks to the people who rewrote the script behind Bakshi's back, we got an incoprehensible Roger Rabbit bastardization. I personally love Cool World, not for the... I guess you could call it "story?" It made no sense, but whatever... anyhow, I love the bizarre backgrounds and animation. Prepare to have your mind fucked.

As a little kid, I thought Who Framed Roger Rabbit was the greatest live-action/animation crossover film ever created. As for Cool World, I thought the movie was pretty cool, but I would have liked to have seen the movie using the original script. Also, I wished that more of the movie took place in the Cool World instead of the real world. Both films are two movies I would love to have in my small but growing DVD collection.
Also, Lonette > Holli Would, in my opinion. I'm surprised the movie let Holli turn human and not her. Too bad the producer of Cool World didn't want the film made as a horror movie at the time and used office politics to get the film made the way he wanted it made.
There's another movie from the early '90s that also tried the live-action/animation approach. It was a foreign film from France, but I forgot the name of it. All I can remember is that the protagonist of the film becomes a cartoon character out of nowhere and tries to hide it from people.
