Oh God, Roots Search...
You know, that's got me thinking... maybe I should actually watch all of it sometime. I know I won't enjoy it, but I feel like if I actually saw the entire thing it would help me to clarify my hysterical hatred for it.

Oh God, Roots Search... You know, that's got me thinking... maybe I should actually watch all of it sometime. I know I won't enjoy it, but I feel like if I actually saw the entire thing it would help me to clarify my hysterical hatred for it. It's bad, but actually not as bad as I had anticipated when I first saw it. I guess I was thinking of "Mars of Destruction" or "Sailor and the 7 Ballz" kind of bad (both titles are worse than Roots Search). I think the difference is that Roots Search looks like something that probably started out good early in production but went waaaaaay off the mark, while the two other titles I mentioned never had anything going for them in the first place. If you don't want to see the whole thing (and honestly I don't blame you), at least see these two unintentionally comedic scenes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMbjXmf5334www.youtube.com/watch?v=nW5Igbr_wesYeah, the only reason I like Roots Search is because I like Alien rip-offs and 80's cheese. Not because it's any good. It's not.

With a chin like that, you'd never need a can opener

One thing I will give Roots Search, is that the animation is fairly decent, but seems to fall apart toward the end.

One thing I will give Roots Search, is that the animation is fairly decent, but seems to fall apart toward the end. Yeah, I noticed there were fewer "quality" stills from it than, say, The Humanoid. But it still could have been a lot better. In my opinion, it falls apart near the end only in regards to the space station hallways. They look awful. The alien hell they wake up in though is okay-looking and even slightly creepy. Other than the hallways, the animation seems pretty consitant throughout to me.

Gotta say on the topic of Alien rip-offs, Xtro 2 and Creature take the crown for me as the best ones. With bad animation though, an obvious mention but how about all the episodes of the original Macross animated by AnimeFriend (e.g. Episode 25 Virgin Road). There are many off model character shots in those.

In my opinion, the character deisgns of the Roots Search characters seem to be very similar to the character designs of the Vampire Hunter D film from 1985. Sadly, I'm too lazy right now to go to the Internet and look for a pic of Rei Gansei and compare his looks to the blonde guy with the super chin.

I would like to trump you with the people behind Sailor & The 7 Ballz.

Hands down, Dingo pictures is the worst animator in the world. That's pretty damn bad. I've animated better stuff. I would like to trump you with the people behind Sailor & The 7 Ballz. Oh God... that one was so bad I couldn't even finish watching it. The "so-bad-it's-funny" humor in watching it gets old pretty fast just because of how long the movie is and how completely eye-rapingly horrid the animation is. Again, I can make (and have made) better animation. It is, from what anime I have seen so far, the worst anime ever. Even Roots Search can't top this shit.

How about the 60s Spiderman cartoon? knowyourmeme.com/memes/60s-spider-manAlso, an article/collection of QUALITY knowyourmeme.com/memes/qualityIn my opinion, the character deisgns of the Roots Search characters seem to be very similar to the character designs of the Vampire Hunter D film from 1985. IMO, it looks similar to Initial D especially the concept arts posted by fokkusu. In 0:27, it sounds like a filipino word "namatay" literally mean as "died"

You might referring to "Puto Seko", a biscuit made of rice. The word "puta" is one of the bad words here aside of tarantado etc.(We were colonized by spaniards once you see)
Back to the topic, how about Colonel Krute's moving corpse at the end of M.D. Geist original cut? ;D

Animation GOLD. Step aside; Disney, Bluth, and Dreamworks!
Seriously though... MY animation looks smoother.

It seems to me that the M.D. Geist creators were either in a hurry or just didn't care. Same with the one-legged guy. The Gundam cels may have been the result of something called "squash-and-stretch", which I've read is an animation technique the earlier Simpsons episodes made frequent use of. The Geist errors were due to underpaid staff working on detailed and complex designs under the direction of Koichi Ohata, who was a newbie then, they didn't get on with him because of how many lines would be in a single design. As for Gundam, if we're talking about 0079, that would mostly likely be because animators found it difficult to be consistent with drawing machines when they had mostly been drawing humans all their life.
