Spent four days away, need to get things here back on track with new university work also tackling me.
I really need to emphasise my aim of how I want this to be a place of film-literate people (probably not going to happen for quite some time) so let's see a lot of culturing.

Watch some foreign films like Get Carter.

I would also like to try and suggest that more people try some European cinema for those wanting to give foreign cinema a go; for example I consider French director Jean Pierre Melville's Le Samourai one of the greatest films I have ever seen. Very accessible and in my opinion highly enjoyable for those with little exposure to foreign films outside of Asia.

And I suggest movies made by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, José Pinheiro, Damiano Damiani, Roman Polański, Patrick McGoohan, Dario Argento - all great directors and some of them great actors, too. Exactly: for those with little exposure to foreign films outside of Asia.

There's a little thing called the Criterion Collection. Watch as many of them as you can and get cultured! www.criterion.com/

Or try, at least, watching stuff like this: It´s a hilarious, but well made and very entertaining comedy! ;D

Ugh, no, I'd actually discourage that, it looks fucking awful and Japan produces way too many movies of that sort now. Seriously, let's have good movies mentioned in this thread.
Shit, that cover is not even accurate for the film.
