I was really close to getting the only rare Gamest Mook issue of Power Instinct 2 for bid on eBay, only to get screwed at the last second on the account you have to login to bid even when signed on, something I wasn't aware of till it was too late.
And I was kind of hoping to get it so I could use it to improve the wiki I'm working on based on the series.
It reminds me why I don't like eBay much. Reminded me that I just generally find relying on getting lucky to be the worst and poorest way to win and buy anything. Why'd I go through with it anyway? Because I'm a serious Power Instinct nut, that's why. I'm probably among the small handful of people who gives a care for the series.
Sorry to bitch, but I just had to say it. So right now, I'm feeling pretty down.

I don't think I have ever found eBay to be a very reliable website in itself.

Yeah, since so much is up to the users on both ends, my mom and I tend to shy away from it for online orders. I'm basically relegated to Amazon.ca, with a few exceptions.

I use eBay for nearly everything I buy because everything I buy is often out of production and typically rare, but I've been in the same boat with you on buying things to expend an informational write-up. I've never really had the problem you've encountered with the account thing but I can sympathize.
If you really feel like it (and may cost a bit more), you be interested in searching for this book on Yahoo Auctions Japan (you usually find ten times more results of items from niche series than you will on eBay), however, you'll need a middle man to get you the item in Japan so they can send it to you, as Yahoo Auctions do not deliver internationally unless the seller says their service does specifically. I can't really recommend any middle men myself, I had to ask my Japanese teacher if she could get me something from there and she has, just hope you have some luck in this area.

I'm also using Ebay to buy or bid something. So far so good, I've got what I bid or buy from anyone on Ebay, I think it really depends on seller or auctioner.
