Personally, I get that weird urge to crush faces of people that I dislike and to cut discussions by grabbing my opponent's face and ranting about how wrong they are ;D.

Geist's infamous battle with the Brain Palace robot makes me want to whip out a video game and fight a tough boss.

Well it did influence me enough to have an original Japanese video release poster on my wall framed. Take from that what you will.

I also like the fact that he's such a asshole with a one-track mind that he can throw a whore out of bed -- literally -- and still have her be loyal to him.

Hey, there wasn't anything asshole-like about it. It's not like he's obligated to sleep with every woman he meets. Actually, technically, she was trying to rape him. Anyway, that scene was very, very awesome .

Well, I once stabbed a guy in the head after slicing his arms off. Then I released hordes of robots that killed untold millions. So yeah, I guess I'm pretty well influenced by Geist.

I sometimes like to wear my hair similar to Geist and Guts from Berserk. But since there are Billy Idol and Kiefer Sutherland after all, there are no problems in searching suitable pictures!

Off-topic: Anybody here ever seen the Kurt Russell movie Solider? It is very similar to M.D. Geist in that it takes place in a future world (in fact, the same world of Blade Runner), the protagonist is created from birth to be a soldier (like Geist), and the majority of the film takes place on a terraformed planet (like Jerra). The major difference is that Kurt Russell's solider character, whom is very robotic and really doesn't know life outside of being a solider, slowly learns to be more human.

Yep, Soldier I remember from back in my early days when I was round 13 years old and action movies were all I watched.

The background Music, the mechanical designs and the Kanada-like animation style that I miss a lot. Back then animators knew how to make action-animation. When I see newer anime for this genera I don't see that spark anymore. Just textures and illumination improvements, but not action like we know. M.D. Geist is a perfect example when I compare badass oldies VS boring newers. What happened to the japanese animators nowdays?
